Ubisoft announces Monopoly Madness - a wild new take on the classic

Ubisoft today announced Monopoly Madness, a wild-looking new multiplayer action game based on Hasbro's classic board game. How much of a departure from classic Monopoly is Monopoly Madness? Well, check out this trailer:

With up to six players, Monopoly Madness will challenge players to run around the streets of Monopoly City simultaneously, scooping up cash and resources in order to buy and upgrade their properties. It's a mad rush to get as much as you can as quickly as possible (capitalism!), while still keeping an eye on stuff like Community Chests, which pop up randomly throughout the map. Community Chest pickups will grant special powers to use against your opponents - stuff like bulldozers and jackhammers, which doesn't sound terribly "Community" minded.

With 20 new characters and 20 levels, Monopoly Madness looks like it will be bringing a lot of chaos when it launches on December 9, 2021 on Xbox, Playstation, PC, Switch, Stadia, and Luna. For more info, check out the game's official website here. 

This is the part where I secretly admit that I'm more excited for Monopoly Madness than I am for Rainbow Six. Shhhh!
