More On: Nuclear Blaze

Dead Cells is a staple in this current wave of quality roguelike action games. What's next for the lead dev and game designer of that triumph? Well, how about a little trip back to childhood to live out that dream of fighting fires? Nuclear Blaze is a 2D side scrolling platformer dedicated to extinguishing flames with a trusty hose. You've got to not only beat back those flames, you also have to uncover the mystery of just exactly where you've been are-dropped into, sector by sector. Apparently, there are even a few cats to save, but no word yet is they are exclusive found up trees. Key features detailed in the press release:

  • The smooth "signature" controls and gameplay made famous by Sébastien Benard, former Motion Twin associate, and lead dev and game designer on Dead Cells.
  • Dedicated "Kid mode" designed for children ages 3+, level design, settings, and gameplay is adjusted so that this challenging adventure can be enjoyed by everyone!
  • Multiple unique levels to explore as you make your way through the flaming hellscape of a mysterious military facility.
  • Unravel the enigmas of Nuclear Blaze by finding secrets and hidden stories scattered throughout each level.

Nuclear Blaze releases October 18th on Steam. As of now it would appear that the PC is the only planned release, but who knows, if this game takes off like Dead Cells did, it could end up being ubiquitous across consoles as well...
