Sable consumes the tears of chum queens just so she can climb more stuff

More On: Sable

On the one hand, Sable is in the desert. The desert is hot, dry, and lifeless, right? Right. But it's also frozen, pocked with oases, and teeming with life. When looking at both sides of the desert coin, it always feels like deserts are at odds with themselves.

I currently have Sable in my hot/cold little/big hands for review purposes. Can't talk about it in any official capacity until next week. But let's just look at this trailer. All you have to do is soak in this Jean "Moebius" Giraud art style and you'll see why Raw Fury's latest (well, upcoming latest) has been on my radar since 2018.

I never got to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But I imagine Sable could be my Breath of the Wild. The stamina meter dipping as you free-climb over any and all surfaces is the first giveaway. Along with finding floaty worm buddies ("Chums") scattered both high and low across the landscape. I mean, then you take the eggs offered to you by Chums and give them to a Chum queen who then offers you a tear which you consume so you can climb even greater heights in the short/tall land of Sable.

Sable is launching September 23 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
