The Riftbreaker is an upcoming base-building, survival game with action-RPG elements. You play as an elite commando inside a Mecha-Suit capable of dimensional rift travel. Hack & slash countless enemies, build up your base, and collect samples and research new inventions to survive. Besides a campaign that “spans multiple hours and offers a remarkable degree of freedom in a super detailed, procedurally generated world.” Players will also be able to play in a sandbox mode where, “we give you control over the entire game – including resources, enemy spawns, and weather conditions.”
“As Captain Ashley S. Nowak, ‘the Riftbreaker,’ you enter a one-way portal to Galatea 37, a distant planet at the far reaches of the Milky Way. Your purpose is to build and develop a base that will allow travel to and from Earth for further colonization. Ashley’s Mecha-Suit, which she calls “Mr. Riggs,” can withstand the harshest environmental conditions and has a full range of equipment for base construction, resource extraction, specimen gathering, and of course – combat. It is also capable of traveling through rifts that connect space across vast distances.”
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of the game will be running at 4K resolution with raytracing effects enabled at up to 60 FPS. The Xbox Series S version of the game is confirmed to run at 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS without raytracing effects enabled. The console versions of The Riftbreake feature full mouse and keyboard support as well.
The Riftberaker will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 14 for $29.99.
