Alan Wake Remastered revealed in classy reveal on community website

More On: Alan Wake

Alan Wake, despite enjoying cult classic status now, didn’t actually launch as a big success. In fact, objectively it could be viewed as a disappointing launch as far as sales were concerned. But Remedy were undeterred and believed in the word of mouth phenomenon for Alan Wake. Those that did pick it up, like myself, had glowing praise for the game. In the years since, Alan Wake has gone on to become considered a cult classic in the medium and has shown very impressive legs. Considering it was the fans and their word of mouth that contributed to Alan Wake garnering such success, it was classy for Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy, to officially announce Alan Wake Remastered on community fan website ‘The Sudden Stop’.

“I’m beyond happy to tell you that at the time of writing this, Alan Wake Remastered is nearing its completion. Confirmed, announced, coming up in partnership with Epic Games Publishing. Multiplatform. PC on the Epic Games Store, Xbox, and for the first time ever, PlayStation, this generation and the previous one.”

Alan Wake Remastered will bundle the base game with all both main DLC (The Signal and The Writer) and will feature 4K resolution, updated visuals, character models and cinematics, as well as developer commentary from Sam Lake himself.

Alan Wake Remastered is scheduled to launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC in Fall 2021. Let me just say - it’s about time.
