Top 6 Best Weapons to Use in Season 10 of Apex Legends

More On: Apex Legends

In online competitive games, weapon balancing means that the state of the best weapons to use is constantly evolving. Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence is no different to previous seasons and brings with it various balancing changes. Though, Apex Legends, to its credit, does a great job at making just about every gun feel strong in the right hands. There’s not exactly an outlier for the best weapon(s) but there are a few standout options. Full disclaimer, this tier list only considers weapons readily available to loot and not weapons only available in a care package i.e. the Kraber. Taking TTK data into account, as well as how the weapons actually feel when used in-game, GamingNexus presents the top 6 weapons to use in Season 10 of Apex Legends.

Wingman

Despite nerfs over the seasons, the Wingman still proves to be one of the deadliest weapons in the game. The Wingman is a revolver that utilizes Heavy Rounds and as a consequence packs a real impactful punch. The Wingman delivers the highest damage per shot in the pistol category and beats out most other weapons too in this regard. It is consistent at all ranges which makes it a very versatile weapon. Whilst hitting consecutive shots can prove a bit tricky unless very skilled, the magazine is forgiving enough to permit a missed shot or two. Though, if you can’t reliably land shots, it’s probably not for you. If you can, you’ll find The Wingman to be a worthy weapon as either your main or secondary.

EVA-8 AUTO

When it comes to CQC there’s nothing much better than having an EVA-8 to whip out in desperate times or aggressive plays. The EVA-8 Auto is a fully automatic shotgun that utilizes Shotgun Shells. It fires 9 pellets in the shape of the number 8. It’s the only automatic shotgun in the game and for that reason is more forgiving for players than the other shotguns. The EVA-8 also provides great hip-fire performance which makes it deadly in close quarters. Being a shotgun, you’ll want to be right up in your opponent’s face blasting them with this thing. Naturally, damage falls off at range so as long as you close the distance, there’s not much better than the EVA-8 to support an aggressive push or as a last ditch defence against an aggressor.

Volt SMG

When it comes to the energy guns, it’s the Volt that comes out on top. Sure, the L-Star isn’t far behind but the overall feel of the Volt with its lovely iron sights earns it a top spot. The Volt SMG is a sub machine gun introduced in Season 6 that utilizes Energy Ammo. Excelling at close-medium range, the Volt SMG is the fastest reloading gun amongst the submachine guns. It also has the fastest projectile speed which contributed towards a quick TTK. The downside to that is it feels like the Volt runs out of ammo very quickly so an extended mag and plenty of reserve energy ammo is required. Regardless, it’s one of the strongest guns in the game and just feels so easy to pick up and use regardless of a player’s individual skill level.

Prowler Burst PDW

Speaking of the SMG category, you can’t not mention the Prowler. Whilst admittedly nerfed from its dominant state in Season 9, the Prowler is still plenty powerful. The Prowler Burst PDW (also called the Prowler SMG) is a submachine gun that utilizes Heavy Rounds and fires in a 5-rounds burst. A high DPS contributes to a quick TTK and as long as you’re hitting those bursts, the Prowler feels absolutely deadly in the close-medium range. Further contributing to the quick TTK, a single burst is faster than the R-99 SMG, the fastest weapon in the game. The hip fire spread is tight and easy to control which only adds to how quickly you can down an opponent in close range combat. It’s very close between the Volt and the Prowler and, truth be told, you can’t really go wrong with either. However, the tighter hip fire control means the Prowler gets the nod, if only slightly.

R-301 Carbine

The most versatile weapon in the game, the R-301 carbine tops the assault rifle category. The R-301 Carbine is an assault rifle that utilizes Light Rounds that are always readily available when looting. With a consistent and easy to master recoil pattern, the R-301 Carbine is easily the most forgiving weapon for new players. Despite a low base magazine size, easily fixed by an extended mag, the R-301 earns its place on this list thanks to its reliability. Excelling in the medium range, its versatility means it’s also perfectly usable in close or even long range encounters too. The rate of fire and hip fire spread make it almost as good as an SMG in close range but the bullet travel and recoil pattern ensure it’s still competitive in longer range gunfights.

Rampage LMG

It’s the new boy that tops the list with the Rampage LMG being my personal go-to weapon in Apex Legends right now. The Rampage is a light machine gun introduced in Season 10 that utilizes Heavy Rounds. The Rampage can consume a Thermite Grenade to temporarily gain Revved Up. Consuming the grenade and revving up takes 4 seconds. The charge lasts for 90 seconds, but each shot will reduce the timer by 2 seconds. Revved Up grants a 30% increase in fire rate and the ability to damage doors. Whilst not Revved Up, some might find the LMG’s fire rate a bit slow but the recoil, accuracy, and damage is so good that it more than makes up for it. It absolutely excels in the medium-long range and, paired with a shotgun or SMG, is absolutely deadly. Though, push comes to shove, it has surprisingly good hip fire accuracy which is enough to make it usable in CQC. Though, you’d still be better off pairing it with a better close range gun.
