The Exekiller reveal trailer is giving me Fallout/Cyberpunk vibes

More On: The Exekiller

Every once in a while, a trailer shows up in the ol' Gaming Nexus email that immediately grabs hold of me and won't let go. This morning, that trailer was the reveal for the new single player action-adventure Exekiller, from Polish developer Paradark Studios.

A mish-mash of videogame and film references, Exekiller seems primed to tickle my love of all things post-apocalyptic and cyberpunk-y. There are also references to Dirty Harry, The Godfather, and freakin Planet of the Apes, if anyone is keeping count. Probably more that I missed, to be honest.

Taking place in New York in a retro-future 1998, Exekiller imagines a world where only 30% of humanity survived "The Great Fire Disaster", and corporations control the world. "We are fans of westerns, postapo but also dark sci fi, cyberpunk and retro futurism- from mixing these genres Exekiller was born" says Amadeusz Wróbel CEO of Paradark Studio in a provided statement.

That trailer is just corny enough, just cool enough, just stylish enough to squeeze all of the drooling want-saliva from my jaws. That part where the Exekiller throws open the door of his hovercar and shoots those dudes while skidding sideways? Superb.

With a release date on Steam of "When it's ready" (and good for you, Paradark Studios), it doesn't seem like we will be getting our hands on Exekiller any time soon. But you can wishlist the game here, and join me on my bed of pins and needles waiting for Exekiller's arrival.
