More On: Far Cry 5

It's hard to believe that it's been over three years since Far Cry 5 unleashed the Peggies on the rural United States, but here were are in 2021, and Far Cry 6 is now right around the corner. A whole new universe, a new bad guy, and yet another appearance from Greg Bryk's Joseph Seed (can't keep a good villain down).

If you missed out on Far Cry 5, this weekend is the perfect time to catch up, for the low low price of zero dollars. That's right, it's a Far Cry 5 free weekend, where you can jump into one of UbiSoft's best open-world adventures and go baha-ing around Montana on a four-wheeler fighting bears without laying out one red cent.

The event begins at various times today (though most are already live at the time of this writing):

  • PC via Ubisoft Store: August 5 at 6 a.m.  PDT
  • PC via Epic Games Store: August 5 at 10 a.m. PDT
  • PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4: August 5 at 12:01 a.m. PDT
  • Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One: August 5 at 12:01 a.m. PDT
  • Stadia: August 5 at 10 a.m. PDT

And then, when you of course want to keep playing after the event ends, you can pick up Far Cry 5 for super cheap:

  • PC via Ubisoft Store, Stadia and Steam: 85 percent off of the Standard Edition, 80 percent off of the Gold Edition and 70 percent off of the Season Pass
  • PC via Epic Games Store: 80 percent off of the Standard and Gold Editions and 75 percent off of the Season Pass
  • PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4: 80 percent off of the Standard Edition, 75 percent off of the Gold Edition and 50 percent off of the Season Pass
  • Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One: 85 percent off of the Standard Edition, 80 percent off of the Gold Edition and 50% off of the Season Pass
