The dinos move off the island in Jurassic World Evolution 2

More On: Jurassic World Evolution 2

If you haven't seen Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, be warned. I'm about to spoil the dino-poop out of it, but its somewhat necessary in order to discuss Jurassic World Evolution 2.

At the beginning of Fallen Kingdom, Isla Nublar goes ka-blooey when a giant volcano explodes, wiping most of the dino population off the map. But - and this is a big but - many of the dinos had already escaped, worming their way back into Earth's ecosystem. Even more were transported off the island willingly by evil corporations looking to make a few dino-bucks. So at this point in the story, the Jurassic Park's dinosaurs are on the lose in the world, and no one knows when or where they will show up.

Check out Ian Malcolm chastising humanity in general in this new trailer:

Jurassic World Evolution 2 takes place in this dinosaur wild west, with the dinos now completely off of Isla Nublar. Of course, this is still a park building game, so its not like you will be breeding dinosaurs out in the wild somewhere. But you will be off of the tropical island, able to now build in forests and deserts. Like the original title, players will be tasked with caring for dinosaur species, each with their own needs and challenges. The base game includes over 75 species this time, which is a major upgrade from the original title.

"Boasting four fantastic game modes, players can experience a bold new era for the Jurassic World Evolution video game franchise. Set immediately after the Earth-shattering events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Campaign mode lets players immerse themselves in an original Jurassic World story as they lead efforts to control, conserve and contain dinosaurs alongside an iconic cast of characters from the films, including Dr. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard)."

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is scheduled to release in late 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
