Preschoolers can line up for the race in new Blaze and the Monster Machines game

My new interest in kids' games continues to burn bright, once again fueled by a game announcement by Outright Games. Outright today announced the October release of Blaze and the Monster Machines: Axle City Racers.

I'm not going to show this trailer to my four-year-old, because doing so would start him down a path of nagging me every day for a game that doesn't come our for four months. He loves the Nickelodeon show the game is based on, and he's simply too little to understand concepts like "release dates".

The coolest thing about Blaze and the Monster Machines is that it features auto-drive with optional simpler controls for little kids. I recently discovered how awesome this is when I was playing Pocoyo Party with my son. That game featured one-button racing, and he thought it was the greatest thing ever invented.

Some other features from Blaze:

  • PERFECT FOR KIDS - Includes STEM educational features and auto drive with optional simple controls for younger players
  • POWER UP - Use speed boosts, and perform stunts and tricks around amazing tracks like Race to Eagle Rock, Stuntmania and more
  • CHOOSE YOUR STYLE - Customize characters and activate unique character abilities to outsmart the competition
  • RACE WITH FRIENDS - Play together in four player split screen mode

Blaze and the Monster Machines: Axle City Racers is scheduled to release in October on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
