Games N Moorer hopped online this afternoon to spend a mid-day gaming session with Orbital Bullet, the new 360° action-platformer from developer SmokeStab.

Orbital Bullet released into Early Access on Steam on April 22, where it is sitting pretty with a Very Positive rating. Players run around and around on a round platform, which spins beneath them. Orbital Bullet is vaguely reminiscent of Fez, where the world is constantly rotating with the player, but instead of revealing new puzzles, the player is engaged in a non-stop action spectacular, gunning down enemies, avoiding shots, picking up new weapons, smashing crates, and generally causing havoc. Once a layer is cleared, the player can jump vertically to the next level and start the whole thing over again.

Joe took an early swipe at the game before the stream, and discovered that he could not stop due to the addictive nature of rogue-lites. By the time he starts the stream, he is on his fifth run, and has already unlocked some of the skill tree and about ten starting weapons. It's actually not a bad place to begin the stream, as Joe has a good feel for the game going into it. Starting at about the eight-minute mark after all the thumping music ends, the other thumping music starts and he gives a pretty good tour of the game.

Orbital Bullet is now available in Early Access on Steam for $12.99 (which is incredibly reasonable). You can also pick up the Save the World Edition, which included the game's banging techno soundtrack.
