Watch the first ever damageless Ninja Gaiden run

I love speed runs and those who can just get through an entire game without losing a single life. Some gamers can go through a game without even getting hit once.

Take Twitch gamer, Slackanater. In the video below, he talks about all the zero damage runs previously in Ninja Gaiden for the NES. The last boss has a head that rolls towards you after doing 11 hits. Up until recently, no one thought you can avoid this hit. You can't jump over it so people consider this single hit as unavoidable and thus omit this hit in the zero damage runs.

Slackanater does a great job in the beginning explaining how you an actually kill the head before it rolls and hits you. You can see him try it a few times before finally getting that elusive kill on the head.

He goes on to try and do this and on his first try for the day, succeeds in completing a true damageless run of the game. It's a pretty amazing feat and you can see how overcome with emotion he is after it's all said and done. The run takes a little over 15 minutes and that end sequence is a great show of perseverance and practice.
