More On: Mass Effect Mass Effect Legendary Edition

There it is. After years of speculation, the Mass Effect remaster has come to reality, and it will be in our collective hot little hands on May 14, 2020.

That is one epic trailer. The features for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition are epic in scope. You get the single player content of all three games in the original trilogy, plus over 40 pieces of DLC, including story add-ons and weapon and armor packs. And of course, the entire thing will be running in 4K, with improved lighting, shaders, and visual effects. All three games will benefit from quality-of-life improvements, like better aiming, squad behavior, and Mako handling (thank goodness!).

“It’s been an incredible journey revisiting the stories, characters and iconic moments of the Mass Effect trilogy, enhancing the experience for modern platforms while staying true to the spirit of the original,” said Mac Walters, Project Director on the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and lead writer of the original trilogy at BioWare. “Remastering a game, let alone three, is a huge undertaking as there’s over 100 hours of gameplay included, but we wanted to do this for our fans as well as a new generation of gamers looking to jump into the iconic story of Shepard.”

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is available to pre-order on Origin, Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One - with forward compatibility with PS5 and Series X|S.
