Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 gets Complete Edition for debut on Switch

More On: Roller Coaster Tycoon 3

Making the jump from PC to Switch, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is ready to fit in your (really big) pocket. Do people still wear cargo shorts?

Of course having to play catch-up on all the post-release content is usually a thing with a ported game, so the Switch is actually getting the Complete Edition of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Just like it sounds it's the base game and both the "Soaked!" and "Wild!" DLC. Not to be left hanging, the PC is also getting various enhancements in its Complete Edition re-release like widescreen support and increased compatibility for newer PC hardware.

The thing I always fear with ports like these, is whether the developers are going to take the time to really build out the user interface and experience to match the console's limitations absent the ease and extensibility of the mouse and keyboard. Well, the folks at Frontier are promising "intuitive new controls designed to help you build the ultimate theme park anytime, anywhere." Well, that sounds promising, doesn't it? A for effort and at least acknowledging the problem, but no concrete details on the actual solution and implementation at the moment...

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 offers a challenge based gameplay with dozens of scenarios to tackle to build a bustling amusement park. There are more than 300 unique coasters and rides, 500 different types of scenery pieces for that perfect bubble gum on pavement ambiance, 60 shops and services, and 20 different animals to raise as well. There is also the Sandbox mode to run wild on and remove both the scenario challenges and budgetary constraints from your creativity, or madness, or whatever you're using to create the craziest park and rides imaginable.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition launches on September 24th on Nintendo Switch and PC. For more info, visit the official website: https://www.rollercoastertycoon3.co.uk
