Playstation 3 sales still lagging

April video game sales figures were released by NPD Funworld, and there was some good and bad news for Sony. The good news is that both the aging PS2 and the recently price-reduced PSP were third and fourth in sales (moving 194k and 183k units respectively) in April after the Nintendo Wii (360k) and DS (471k). The bad news is that the Playstation 3 finished a pathetic seventh on the sales chart, behind the Xbox 360 (174k) and the ancient Game Boy Advance (84k) , moving a paltry 82k units. Analysts were expecting a minimum of 100K units sold in April. According to a Reuters article, Sony blamed a poor software lineup and promised hardware sales would increase with news games hitting the market later this year.
