More On: A Game of Thrones: The Board Game - Digital Edition

I'm a little sad they couldn't shove in a Lego crossover, but in an epic mash up mixing media type and popular IP, Game of Thrones is getting another game set about in its fantasy world. Only this time the game has already been done, but not as digital content rather as a physical board game. A physical game that now takes to the virtual screen in A Game of Thrones: The Board Game - Digital Edition. The original board game was designed by Christian T. Petersen and made by Fantasy Flight Games. This time Dire Wolf Studios is taking that game, currently sitting at #116 in BoardGameGeeks top board game list, and allowing up to six players to have at it online. If you don't have a full compliment, AI opponents can take on the empty seats to use both political and military maneuvers to guide your way to the iron throne.

The main features of the game:

  • Number of players: Up to 6 players
  • Game modes: Solo play, Pass & Play, Online multiplayer with Elo rating & leaderboards.
  • Game duration: Approx. 1 hour per game.
  • Main gameplay mechanics: Resources management, Movements & Area occupation, Hidden action orders & hero cards.
  • Asymmetrical strategy based on the political and military tactics of the fantasy novels.
  • Main social mechanics: Hidden Diplomacy, Betrayal, Influence betting, Bluff, Cooperation.
  • Enhanced graphical elements based on the physical board game assets.\
  • Step by step tutorial & digital exclusive challenges based on the War of the Five Kings, to smoothly enter a deeply strategic board game (approx. 6-8 hours).

A Game of Thrones: The Board Game - Digital Edition can be wishlisted on Steam, where it is expecting a Q3 2020 release.
