Telling Lies, from the creator of Her Story, releases next week on consoles

Her Story was a genre breaking detective game set in the mobile space for PC, iOS, and later Android. It had you searching through police archive video clips to determine if the subject was being truthful or not. It was critically acclaimed for its narrative, even if it was a bit linear of an experience.

Following up that triumph was the next game from creator Sam Barlow, Telling Lies. Inspired by a Francis Ford Coppola thriller and still weaving video footage with gameplay, this time the player finds themselves in possession of "an anonymous laptop loaded with a stolen NSA database full of footage" from the press release. Basically you weave through two years fo cottage covering the lives of 4 characters to try and piece together the truth. The character actors are Logan Marshall-Green (who I recognize from Prometheus), Alexandra Shipp (Storm in the X-Men reboot), Kerry Bishé (Argo and the Netflix feature How It Ends) and Angela Sarafyan (Clementine from West World).

Telling Lies originally release on mobile platforms in late 2019 and is now making the jump to consoles, landing on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on April 28th. The game was nominated at the BAFTA 2020 Game Awards and won the Golden Joystick 2019 Award for Logan Marshall-Green’s leading role performance.
