If you are like me then skateboarding games were a major part of your childhood. I still have memories of passing the PS1 / PS2 controller around the living room with friends as we stayed up late playing the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games with Pro Skater 3 being one of my favorite games of all time. The series started to decline over the years but then the Skate series came in and revitalized the genre. Well here it is 2020 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is essentially dead while EA refuses to give us Skate 4.
Now it seems like Skater XL is here to revitalize the genre as we finally got a release window for the game and it's coming this July. Also included will be real life skating legends Tom Asta, Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith and Brandon Westgate. Players can also create their own custom Skater. The game will also include a downtown Los Angeles map that includes the LA Convention Center, Staples Center and tons of plazas, buildings, car parks rails and corridors that players can use to skate off of and pull off tricks.
Skater XL releases in July for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
