Funcom unveils new MMO, not an Orc in sight

Funcom has spilled the beans on their new MMO and it doesn't involve orcs, goblins, alien races, or interstellar travel.  The Secret World takes place in a world inside our own in which ancient forces are battling it out for control of the world.  OK, it sounds a little bit like the Night Watch mixed with a touch of the Matrix but it does sound like a cool idea and it's certainly better than having to deal with yet another fantasy based MMO.  For more information you can head over to the game's website or you can try to unlock some more concept art by solving puzzles at this website.

Funcom reveals ‘The Secret World’

‘The Secret World’ has been in development since last summer and the game is in a playable state. It is produced at the Funcom studios in Oslo and Beijing. A release date is not being announced at this point, but players are already getting involved in the fast-growing community. Through a complex web-based mystery launched on May 6th, players are being led to a series of websites, including www.DarkDaysAreComing.com, where – after solving a puzzle – concept art from the game is being unveiled.
