New Stadia games arrive today - with reasonable prices!

More On: DragonBall Xenoverse 2 Borderlands 3 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Only a couple of weeks have gone by since Google released the Stadia, along with an initial slate of 22 high profile games. (Sidebar: the Stadia game that is getting the most play in my house right now is Just Dance 2020. Who knew?)

Now, just in time for the holidays, three more popular titles are joining the lineup, bringing the number of Stadia’s offerings to an even 25.

Available immediately (I popped into the Stadia Store to check, and sure enough, they are available now) are Borderlands 3 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is retailing for 49.99, while Borderlands can be purchased in a variety of flavors, all on sale for a limited time:

  • Borderlands 3 Standard Edition for $38.99 USD (35% off)
  • Borderlands 3 Deluxe Edition for $51.99 USD (35% off)
  • Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition for $77.99 USD (22% off)

Tomorrow, December 18, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint arrives. Interestingly, Breakpoint for Stadia includes a Stadia-exclusive feature that was not available in other versions. Through Stream Connect, you can monitor the screens of up to three teammates.

Wait. Is this one of those Stadia features that everyone has been waiting on? Seems like it might be. Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be on sale for a limited time in three versions.

  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint for $30.00 USD (50% off)
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gold Edition for $50.00 USD (50% off)
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Ultimate Edition for $60.00 USD (50% off)

In my recent review of the Stadia, I noted that while I have a lot of faith in the tech (and Google’s ability to make it even better), I did have a lot of questions about the pricing of games – and how to make those prices more appealing to gamers.

This wave of games releasing with more reasonable pricing definitely feels like a step in the right direction. Bringing three friends on board for Breakpoint for $60 apiece might be a hard sell - but for $30, the case for Ghost Recon on Stadia gets a lot stronger. The case is further strengthened by the fact that Breakpoint on Stadia does tricks that its console counterpoints do not.

I will be sampling these games over the holidays (along with my shooter-happy Dragonball fan sons). Keep an eye on Gaming Nexus for my report, and for all continuing Stadia coverage moving forward.
