Ape Out's percussive gameplay demoed in new trailer

Devolver Digital has released a new trailer demonstrating the adaptive percussion soundtrack for their recently-released rhythm-actioner, Ape Out. The game's music, designed by ex-Harmonix musician Matt Boch, is essentially a procedural drum brain. The entire soundtrack is percussion; the algorithm keeps track of the gameplay constantly, and creates a multilayered beat on the fly by drawing from thousands of sound samples. This results in one hell of a dynamic soundtrack, that always mirrors what you're doing.

I'm playing through Ape Out now, and while it may sound glib, it feels like Rampage had a baby with Hotline Miami. Stay tuned for my full review very soon.
