Obsidian looks like it's making a cross between No Man's Sky and Fallout with The Outer Worlds

More On: The Outer Worlds

Obsidian Entertainment had teased The Outer Worlds a few days ago, but I think what we saw last night at The Game Awards really surprised a lot of folks. Let's just say with how another game's doing, this one seems to really nail it on the head.

With a callout to the team that made Fallout: New Vegas and some folks who were the original creators Fallout, (yeah, you can see where they are going with this), The Outer Worlds looks like a space cowboy adventure with that quirky humor which made New Vegas so fun and the style of a No Man's Sky.

A lot of folks are calling this the Fallout that should have been, but I think we got a ways to go before we can say that. The trailer sure looks very promising and a great way to whet people's appetite for more. And boy, do I want more. If this game has some co-op mode, yeah it MIGHT be that Fallout that people wanted. Although right now, the Steam page lists it as just a single player game.

The Outer Worlds is going to be on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC with a release year of 2019. In the meantime, check out the trailer and smile at what looks like a fun romp from the original Fallout and New Vegas people.
