It's weird I've never seen the terms "cat mechs" and "mechtroidvania" together in a game before, but here we are with Gato Roboto. You've got your monochromatic 8-bit feline protagonist, platforming around Nintendo Game Boy retro graphics, leaping in and out of a Metroid-like mech suit, all while a VHS-tape-warped dance soundtrack thumps in the background. Rocket jumps, boss fights, water levels, 360-degree climbing skills...I'm not sure Gato Roboto left anything out. You knew before you even clicked the play button on the video if this was the type of game for you.
Gato Roboto is coming to PC and Switch in 2019.
