Fortune-499 is February’s Humble Original

I do my best to not rant about how awesome Humble Bundle Monthly is in every single thing I post. But when the opportunity presents itself….

Humble Bundle Monthly is awesome. It is the most awesome deal in gaming. You pay $12 a month, and they light you up with a ton of cool games. It’s like Loot Crate but instead of socks you will never wear, you get Steam codes - which is what we all really want. And as the cherry on top of the delicious gaming sundae, Humble Bundle provides you with a Humble Original, which is an original game that is only available to subscribers. These fun little indie games are usually fairly offbeat, with sensibilities far outside of what might be considered “mainstream”.

Humble Bundle has already announced that in February, subscribers will receive Civilization VI (awesome) and Owlboy (also awesome). There will probably be five or six other games in addition to those two (still keeping my fingers crossed for Slime Rancher). And yesterday, they announced that February’s Humble Original will be Fortune-499.

Here’s the game’s official description:

“Fortune-499 is a game about money and magic. You play a fortune teller working in the magical resources department of a large corporation. You engage in day-to-day office activities such as forwarding emails, attending meetings, fighting back hordes of monsters, and dealing with printer jams. With some tricky magic up your sleeve and your job on the line, it's up to you to build a future out of the hand you've been dealt.”

From the trailer, Fortune-499 looks to play like a mix of an old-school adventure game and an old-school-RPG with a sardonic supernatural twist. As usual, I will be downloading this one immediately when February’s bundle drops.
