Runaway success PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been dominating the video game scene, despite the fact that it's limited to one platform. Prepare for it to really take over the world once it reaches the Xbox One on December 12 of this year.

The game will be launched through Microsoft's Game Preview program. It will be Xbox One X enhanced to utilize HDR, but 4K won't be available at launch.

Brandon Greene, playerunknown himself, says in an interview with Eurogamer that it's best to think of the console version as slightly behind the PC version. The Xbox version will launch with the vault capability, but will have to wait a while for further updates, like the desert map.

While the developers still are interested in pursuing platform crossplay, there's no official word on whether or when it will be implemented.

The game launches with the same $29.99 pricetag December 12th.
