You can farm on the go when Stardew Valley comes to the Switch on October 5

More On: Stardew Valley

I know, I know, it's always been a burning desire of yours to settle into a long flight, crack open your Nintendo Switch, and get your farm on. Well, come October 5, you can do just that! The acclaimed Stardew Valley finally has its release date, and it's right around the corner.

In all seriousness, people have been waiting for the game—which our own Randy Kalista called "inexplicably wholesome," and rightfully so—to make its debut on the Switch for a while now. And yes, people do want to get their farm on while they're traveling, as sarcastic as I sounded. I would too, if I had the means. There's just something about Stardew Valley that distances it from those other Facebook-grade farming sims—you know, the ones that are based almost entirely on recommends and coins.

The port looks like it's already shaping up to be well worth it, especially given the promise of multiplayer. We already knew that multiplayer would be coming to the Switch before other consoles, but it'll be a while for both either way. Be patient back there! The game's only just about to make the Switch...get it? Get it?

You might want to think about picking up the game from the eShop come Thursday. It'll run $14.99 USD.
