One of the things you need when playing in VR is a good solid framerate. The HTC Vive and Oculus Rift renders at 90Hz and if your game dips below that, it can cause some serious headaches. There are some technologies that help when a frame is missed, i.e. Asynchronous Space Warp.

But, we all want a smooth VR experience all the time. So how do we know if our rig's running well in a certain game? In comes NVIDIA's FCAT VRFCAT VR will help you benchmark your VR setup and let you know how well a game's running. The application presents a great deal of information and some nice graphs to let you know how your computer is doing when playing a VR game.

You'll need to install a few things to get it running, but for those wanting to benchmark their setup for VR games and applications, FCAT VR is a tool that they'll find very helpful in testing.
