Free trial of Watch Dogs 2 coming to consoles

More On: Watch Dogs 2

If you've been on the fence about buying Watch Dogs 2 (understandable, given the varied reviews), Ubisoft is ready to try and convince you - risk-free. They announced on their blog yesterday that Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners have a chance to play up to three hours of the game, completely free.

This isn't a limited-access trial, either. Players do have to download the entire game (25-28 GB), but once they do they'll have access to the entirety of the game's features, or at least what of them they can unlock in three hours. This includes multiplayer, missions, and restricted areas.

"But wait!" you might say. "What if I decide I want to buy the game? I don't want to play the beginning all over again." Well, my friend, Ubisoft did you a solid there; if you decide to buy the game at any point after your trial has ended, your progress will carry over so you don't have to restart the game after your purchase. You'll be able to pick up right where you left off.

The trial is available to download for PS4 today. Xbox One owners will be able to download it starting on January 24.
