Noclip continues its deep dive into Doom with part two of their video series, Making a First Impression. This video examines the plot, aesthetics and overall attitude of the game as well as a blow-by-blow breakdown of the game's crucial first level. I particularly like creative director Hugo Martin's approach to the game's story. His "why the hell not?" style fits perfectly and makes sense, considering his work on Pacific Rim, a movie about an international industry that develops to fend off giant sea monsters.
