SMITE is getting a huge patch next week which includes a brand new in game event, skins, and a rework for everyone's favorite rodent, Ratatoskr.

First up is the "Viking Invasion" event. This will be an in game event just like the Escape From the Underworld event but this one will play out a bit differently. First off, to participate in the event, you need to buy the Viking Invasion bundle. This bundle will cost 900 gems and will get you the following items.

  • "Einherjar" Chaac
  • "Valkalli" Kali
  • Access to embark on the Viking Invasion Questline
  • Viking Stein Ward
  • Viking Altar Pedestal
  • Viking Invasion Loading Frame
  • Ymir Announcer Pack
  • Norse Seafarer Music Theme

For only 900 gems, that's a pretty amazing deal as those skins are probably 400 gems each with the other items being 200 - 400 gems if they were sold separately.

After buying the bundle you will have access to the special in game quests. By completing quests, you can win rewards such as favor, Viking Chest rolls and two more exclusive skins including "Storm Jarl" Chaac and "Blood Jarl" Kali.

Next up is the long awaited rework for Ratatoskr. In his new kit, Ratatoskr will spawn with his magic acorn but this time it will eliminate his need to buy boots as the acorn with give him physical power and movement speed. He also has a new attack called "Flurry" in which he spins in a circle, does damage and also reduces their physical protections, so he is going to be very good at shredding tanks and warriors, especially if you buy additional penetration items.

Finally, Anhur and Hou Yi are getting their Tier 2 skins with "Sand Warden" Anhur and "Searing Sun" Ho Yi and Skadi is getting her mastery skins.
