What are you playing this weekend? The Division Cyber Sleuth Edition

by: Randy -
More On: What we're playing

Microsoft will likely close Lionhead, maker of the Fable series. One guy hasn't played a video game since 2007, and now barely recognizes video games in 2016. And crowdfunded Bear Simulator dev cites "drama" (but whispers, "Because of Pew Die Pie's takedown piece") as to why he's giving up on his game.

What are you playing this weekend?

This weekend I'll likely be putting a lot of time into Pokken Tournament for my upcoming review. I can't say much due to the embargo, but let's just say that I thought I had in mind who I wanted to focus on playing with, and changed that quickly after the CPU kicked my butt. Beyond that, I am enjoying it so far. I'll also be putting time into Pokemon Red and Yellow on the 3DS to get those ready for my review as well. Gotta go through and get my original team together from the first time I played through Red. Scyther, Magmar, Electabuzz...you know, the Pokemon hardly anyone uses.

Sad thing is that I was actually going to play Fable Legends this weekend but Microsoft hates fun.

Last weekend, I made a trip to my local IKEA—which is two hours away—and got a new entertainment center. This weekend, I hope to break it in with some mind-numbingly long sessions of The Division. I've been really excited about this game for a while, but I have heard some mixed things. Hopefully it's as good as I'm planning on it being.

I've had my eye on The Division since it was shown for the first time a few years ago, so I wasted no time in running out and picking it up this week. After enjoying the small bit of time that I got with the beta test, I am really looking forward to digging into the game this weekend. I will also continue my quest to earn the Platinum Trophy in Far Cry Primal. Even after playing all of the way through the game for our review, I find myself constantly returning to Oros to continue tracking down every last side machine and skill point that I can find. I. Must. Get. Them. All.

I wouldn't mind wrapping up my non-gamer wife's playthrough of Firewatch. It's been difficult for me to witness, since she dislikes Delilah so much that she won't tell her anything unless it's critical to advancing the story. There's a lot of radio silence, in other words. I have my No Man's Sky pre-order firmly in hand, so it's just a matter of puttering around until the June 21 launch. I mean, millions of players heading out into quintillions stars, burning toward the center of the galaxy? Man, I'm ready. But as for this weekend, World of Tanks is still my I've-only-got-15-minutes-to-play-something game, Darkest Dungeon is my let's-explore-self-abuse-before-bedtime game, and Shower with Your Dad Simulator is my annual reminder-of-why-I-hate-John-Yan-and-his-Steam-gifting-habits game.

It's looking like if the weather holds out I'll be visiting Stonehenge this weekend. I've never been and it will be nice to tick that one off. I'll surely be playing more Destiny as I just got the Black Spindle exotic sniper this week and I'm in the last steps of getting an exotic sword. There should be a raid or two going for my Hunter, and I'll put some work in on my Wizard which is only a few hours in and somewhere around level 10.

I'll be doing a different type of gaming this weekend as I head to a Harrah's Casino. When I get back, it's time to go hard on Digimon: Cyber Sleuths, and wrap up the DLC of Fire Emblem Fates. I also got new stuff from XSeed, and Koei Tecmo to work on, the latest Senran Kagura, and Samurai Warriors. Also the latest patch in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward added some PVP incentives, so I need to check that out as well.
