Am I excited about the Master of Orion reboot? Yes. Am I getting hit with a wave of nostalgia from even thinking about its upcoming release? Yes. Am I confident enough in my gamer credentials to admit all that—even though this trailer is a poor advertisement for the game and that, truth be told, without the MoO name attached to it, this probably wouldn't attract much of any attention whatsoever, yet has somehow attracted top-notch voice actors to the project?
Yes.
No, seriously, I'm not talking about the actual game, because I haven't played it. And I'm not trying to deconstruct Master of Orion's obvious genre-building legacy for 4X strategists. It paved the way, duh. But this is some Plainy McPlainWrap-lookin' graphics and gameplay if ever I saw some. Wargaming.net needs to start splicing together some hotter trailers, or this could very well wilt on the vine.
