What We're Playing: Rocket League Balloon Fight Edition

More On: What we're playing

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has died at the age of 55. Jade Raymond opened a new EA studio to work on a Star Wars game. And Facebook's new chief of security wants Adobe to end Flash.

What are you playing this weekend?

Sean Colleli, Staff Writer, @scolleli
In honor of Satoru Iwata I will be playing some New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Star Fox 64 3D on my 3DS this weekend. I might also fire up Balloon Fight and Earthbound to sample some of the man's first work for Nintendo. This is the tragic end of an era, but I will try to carry on as Iwata-sama always did: With optimism, creativity and humor.

I think that the time has come for me to begin my career in Rocket League. After dabbling with the game a bit in local multiplayer, I think I am almost ready for the big leagues in online play. Aside from that, Ant Man Pinball is calling my name.

Charles Husemann, Editor-in-Chief, @chusemann
I'm still winding my way through The Witcher 3. I think the end of the game is in sight, but I'm going back through the treasure quests now and trying to collect as much epic witcher gear as I can before plowing through the end of the game.

I ran across Goat Simulator under a "For Kids" category while browsing the Xbox 360 store, so I figured, Why not? "For Kids." So, the kiddo and I had a blast—until she somehow found the secret underground level. Then stuff got scary for her. (Anything can be nightmare fuel for a five-year-old.) I'm level 7 in The Witcher 3, which means I'm still running away from half the fights I stumble across, but I'm getting more and more OK with that. Oh, Hi, level 15 enemies. Guess I'll check you later.

I'm away from home for a wedding all this next week, so no PC or PS4 for me. I will, however, be back at my parent's house where my shiny, old PS3 is waiting for me. I think I'm going to get a little old school gaming in. Well, PS3 isn't that old school. Old-ish school, maybe? In any case, I'm not even sure what games I have left, so it'll be a bit of a surprise for everybody.

I'm continuing my journey through Big MT in Fallout: New Vegas's DLC, Old World Blues. I forgot just how big the DLC was, and there's a ton to explore. Also, the enemies scale with you, so the fights are a lot tougher than when I first went through it. I'll also be getting back into Grand Theft Auto V and trying to finish up the campaign.
