Battlefield Hardline developer answers single-player questions on Twitter

I've been excited about the single player for Battlefield Hardline for a while now, ever since they announced that they were going for a television tone similar to fantastic shows like Justified and The Wire. Today, Ian Milham, creative director for Hardline, answered questions about the single player on Twitter. I've compiled the answers I think were most interesting here below.

  • There will be very open ended tactical options for each scenario
  • Lots of variability and replayability come with different playstyles
  • No co-op specific modes
  • QTEs will be toned down to keep gameplay dynamic
  • Mission length varies, some are less than an hour and some are more
  • You only play one character, but the story will show both sides of the action
  • 10 missions, called episodes

It seems more and more like they are wanting to make Hardline function like a gritty cop show, which is very exciting. I'll be interested to see how the grand scale we've come to know from Battlefield will translate to a small scale story. Or maybe the story will end up being way grander than I think!
