Players played 75 years' worth of Stronghold Crusader II in one week

Stronghold Crusader II, the castle-building sim from Firefly Studios, had an excellent first week. It launched September 23 and, coupled with strong pre-order sales, took the top spot in Steam's Top Sellers chart.

Firefly Studios gathered a bunch of stats and threw them into an infographic for those of us that don't like to read too many words. Suffice it to say, food was produced, resources were gathered, weapons forged, and gold was taxed. It's stunning to read how many man-hours are sunk into games, though, especially when players clocked in 75 years of Stronghold Crusader II. In one week. Seventy-five years.

But castles were meant to be built and destroyed, I'll be the first to admit.

Stronghold Crusader II is out now on PC.

Gameplay stats from the first week of Stronghold Crusader 2 reveal longest multiplayer game, total castles destroyed and cruelty to animals

Firefly Studios has released a new infographic containing gameplay stats from the first week of activity in Stronghold Crusader 2, the recently released castle sim sequel. Released on September 23rd Stronghold Crusader 2 quickly became the number one Top Seller on Steam, boosted up the charts by long time fans of the series buying the game on launch day. Earlier today Firefly took to their official website to thank fans of the series and outline future plans for the game:

Stronghold Crusader 2 is a hugely important game for us and a title we plan to support with new content going forward. Over the coming weeks and months we will be releasing various updates for the game, focussing at first on bug fixes and fine tuning for game balance. Following on from that we have a number of exciting feature updates and DLC planned. These include a further eight AI characters, new maps for different game modes, classic Crusader 1 maps, Steam Workshop and many player requested features such as Strongwall.

We could not be happier with the response from players, who have our sincere thanks for supporting the team over the past two years of development. We enjoy reading any comments that reflect fans' love for the series and those that give us ideas for where to take Crusader 2 post-release. The team is looking forward to implementing some great suggestions and seeing what players can come up with in terms of user-generated content, from custom maps to castle designs. If these early gameplay stats are anything to go by Stronghold Crusader 2 has a long life ahead of it, something will we do our absolute best to support.

Stronghold Crusader 2 is now available on Steam, with a Special Edition including Stronghold Crusader HD, The Art of Stronghold Crusader 2 digital art book and the game??s full soundtrack composed by Robert Euvino: http://store.steampowered.com/app/232890/
