Nintendo Download for 9/25/2014: It's time to defend Hyrule...Dynasty Warriors style

The big release that Nintendo fans are waiting for this week is without a doubt Hyrule Warriors.  As a fan of The Legend of Zelda series and a beginner with the Warriors franchise, I was pleasantly surprised when Hyrule Warriors was first announced a while back and I've been eagerly waiting for it's release tomorrow.  Of course, Nintendo wouldn't be silly enough to have an entire week go by with just one release now would they?

Over on the 3DS we have the latest game in the Yu-gi-oh series with Yu-gi-oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival.  I actually briefly checked this out at GenCon and it wasn't all that bad.  Granted I hadn't played Yu-gi-oh in quite some time, digitally or physically, but the touch controls seemed to work pretty well except for when I kept forgetting to switch to a particular phase, but that was my own fault.  The game will let you play as one of twelve characters, each with their own storyline, as you battle against forty duelists using more than 5,700 cards from the trading card game.

Finally, next month is October which seems like the perfect month for a series of Castlevania games to hit the Virtual Console.  Next week will see Castlevania: Dracula X from the Super NES hit the Wii U's Virtual Console while October 9th will bring us Castlevania: Circle of the Moon from the Game Boy Advance on the Wii U.  While I've only played a bit of Dracula X (which is a bit of a port of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood from the PC Engine), Circle of the Moon was, in my opinion, an excellent addition to the series.  I'm hoping at some point we also see Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on the VC.

In addition to video games available at retail stores, Nintendo also offers a variety of content that people can download directly to their systems. Nintendo adds new games weekly to the Nintendo eShop on the Wii U console and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, the Nintendo DSi?? Shop for the Nintendo DSi system and the Wii?? Shop Channel for the Wii console.

The Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service that features a wide variety of content, including new and classic games, applications and demos. Users can add money to their account balances by using a credit card or purchasing a Nintendo eShop Card at a retail store and entering the code from the card. All funds from one card must be loaded in the Nintendo eShop on either Wii U or the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, but can be used in either Nintendo eShop if the systems are linked to a single Nintendo Network account.

The Wii Shop Channel offers games and applications and uses Wii Points??, which can be purchased via the Wii Shop Channel. The Nintendo DSi Shop offers games and applications and uses Nintendo DSi Points??, which can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. A Wii Points Card?? and Nintendo DSi Points Card?? can be purchased at retail locations. All points from one card must be redeemed in either the Wii Shop Channel or the Nintendo DSi Shop, respectively. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.
