More On: Wasteland 2

After a couple of lengthy delays, Wasteland 2, sequel to the 1988 post-apocalyptic role-playing game, is nailng down a September 19 launch. Wasteland 2 has marinated on Steam Early Access since December of last year -- for a $59.99 entry fee -- but the final launch version is going for $40.

I wasn't there for the first Wasteland, however, so nostalgia means nothing to me in this case. The little I see looks underwhelming. The art style is uninspired, the story lacks drama, and the combat doesn't have any punch.

Doesn't matter. Wasteland 2 is a landslide Kickstarter success, and the Early Access reviews have been mostly positive. Either way, fans' 25-year-wait is nearly over.
