More On: Guacamelee! Guacamelee! Gold Edition Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition

We've reviewed both the Vita and PC versions of Guacamelee! here at Gaming Nexus, and the consensus is that it's pretty rad. But Jeremy and I agreed that we wanted more content than the game had- and our fervent prayers have been answered in the form of Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. Well, until now, Jeremy's were answered because it was already available for console. But in just two short days, I'll be able to get an extended stay in Guacamelee!'s world of punching and platforming when it hits Steam on August 21st.

New features include:

  • New game areas that include the Canal of Flowers and climbing through an active Volcano.
  • A new boss/three-headed skeleton/mariachi band called The Trio of Death
  • INTENSO combat that involves getting struck by lightning, catching on fire, and a soccer announcer yelling INTENSOOOOOOOO! Also, chicken bombs.
  • New enemies that may or may not chokeslam you to death.
  • Multiple save slots
  • A dual currency system that lets you permanently unlock items.

As usual with all new games on Steam, Guacamelee! STCE will be 10% off for it's first week in the store. But if you already own Guacamelee! Gold Edition on Steam, you'll get a 66% loyalty discount on this fancy new version. So basically, if you already own it you'll be paying $4.99 for a DLC pack, except the DLC is actually a whole new game. ¡Qué divertido! If you decide to be a Johnny-come-lately, you'll be paying the full price of $14.99.
