Deep Silver announced today that they have purchased the IP and development assets of Homefront: The Revolution from Crytek.  The rest of the game will be developed by Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, a newly formed development studio within Deep Silver.  No word on a release date as I'm sure they new studio is still evaluating how much work is actually left to do and how much of the existing codebase can be re-used.

This probably doesn't help any of the rumors that have been swirling around Crytek for the last few months.  The developer has been wrapped in negative rumors since E3 and this news certainly doesn't help much though the sale of the IP should provide some cash to help stabilize the company.

We'll keep you updated as this story evolves.
