First batches of Oculus Rift DK2 ship, but expect a delay if you pre-ordered

Unless you got in super early, you'll probably be waiting on your Oculus Rift DK2 unit to be shipped to you. Oculus has posted that 10,000 units have left manufacturing and are on their way to those that have pre-ordered. If you are the lucky first 10,000, you'll have your kit by the week of July 14th.

Now, there have been about 45,000 pre-orders for the Rift so more than 75% of the people will see their orders fulfilled in August. Oculus is looking to ramp up production to try and get the units to those that have ordered as fast as possible.

If you pre-order now, the website says it's on track to deliver in September, so a few months out from today. I ordered pretty much as soon as the website went live, so I'm hoping I'm in the first 10,000 batch myself. Having tried it out at CES, I've got a few ideas on some things I want to do with the Rift.
