More death and despair coming to Dark Souls II

More On: Dark Souls 2

Have you've spent enough time with Dark Souls II to think you've got everything down? Nothing left to surprise or challenge you? Well, From Software has three chapters of DLC that say otherwise. The Lost Crowns trilogy has three completely new areas with new enemies, bosses, traps and challenges waiting to break your spirit. The first chapter, Crown of the Sunken King takes you to an underground city of ziggurats in order to find the crown of Drangleic's former King Vendrick. Judging by the trailer, there will be enough traps and perilous walkways to rival The Gutter. Also, a giant flame-throwing land manatee? I'm not really sure what I saw. All I know is I want it.

Each chapter of The Lost Crowns trilogy will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and for PC via Steam for $9.99 each, or as a season pass for $24.99. Crown of the Sunken King will be available in America on July 22, 2014. The second chapter, Crown of the Old Iron King is set to release on August 26, and the final chapter, Crown of the Ivory King is set for September 24.

If you haven't played Dark Souls II yet, you can see what we thought of the PS3 and PC versions.
