The new Skylanders game lets you trap and turn your enemies

Yesterday, Toys for Bob announced the next game in the Skylanders series. Skylanders: Trap Team, coming October 5th, will let you trap enemies and in turn, you'll be able to use them your team to fight with you.

Kaos is back to cause havoc as he unleashes a whole slew of villains onto the world of Skylands. Using these new trap crystals you can set on a brand new portal, you'll be able to capture these villains complete with the voice of the captured one coming from a speaker on the portal. Once captured, you can switch between the villain or the Skylander by pushing a button.

There will be over 40 different villains that you can trap with crystals that are spread across the same elements as those designated in the previous games. In the preview, you can see even a version of Kaos will be trappable by the player.

As for Skylanders, over 50 will be available which range from new versions of old characters to a handful of new Trap Masters for you to collect. No new swappable characters will be introduced, it seems, with Trap Team but, you can use characters from previous games in the new game. 

So, it sounds like there's a nice new twist to the Skylanders gameplay. As mentioned earlier, the game will be due out on October 5th and it will be available on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.
