Tonight at the Wynn Encore Theater at the International CES 2014, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced what most everyone knew was coming in the form of the WWE Network.  While everyone knew that WWE had been working towards this goal for the past year, what no one knew was how it would be implemented.  Today, just about every question that we had was answered.  Here is the skinny on what the WWE Network will bring to the fans of the WWE Universe.

  • $9.99 a month (six month commitment required) for the subscription
  • Subscription includes every past Pay-Per-View from WWE, WCW, and ECW.
  • Over 110,000 hours of content available
  • 24/7 streaming
  • Live content available on the network
  • Pre and Post-show events for Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and Superstars
  • Every PPV, including Wrestlemania, will be available via subscription in 720p HD
  • Application will be available on Android, iOS, Xbox (360 and One), PS3/PS4, and Kindle Fire
  • Chromecast supported
  • Network launches on February 24, 2014

This is a major move by the wrestling media giant.  PPV buyrates have been up and down for the last several years, especially with the advent of internet culture and the unwillingness to spend up to fifty dollars per PPV.  WWE is obviously banking on people willing to pay ten dollars a month to increase their revenue, which is an incredibly smart move.  The $9.99 per month subscription is an absolute bargain for WWE fans and marks a historical moment in the company's long history.
