Sony reveals free PlayStation App

Sony Computer Entertainment will be releasing the PlayStation App in North America on November 13 and Europe on November 22. The free app connect smartphones to the PlayStation 4 and will enable mobile users to access the PlayStation Network. The app also features a whole slew of other features that makes this app a must download for anyone who regularly uses a Sony system.

PSN features and information:

  • View and access your profile screen
  • View yours and friend's trophies
  • Send and receive messages between PS4, PS3, PS Vita and other devices with PlayStation App
  • Access to friend profiles
  • Notify users of friends' shared activity
  • Notify PS4 users of notifications or game invites

Use devices with PlayStation App installed as second screens in supported PS4 games.

Watch friends' live streams of gameplay and comment on screenshots and video content.

Purchase game content and download it directly onto your PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.

Use PlayStation App as simple remote control of PS4 if they are using the same Wi-Fi access point. Control of PS4 includes taking the system in and out of standby mode and using the mobile device as a keyboard.

 

The PlayStation App will be available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices from the App Store and Google Play.
