I think we all knew this was going to happen, and I'm sure many that distrust downloadable titles because they can't hide them under their mattress with their life savings are going to be thrilled that this is happening: The Walking Dead, previously only available via episodic download, is being prepped for a retail disc release.

But that's not all, for the die-hards and completionists out there, The Walking Dead will receive an elaborate GameStop exclusive collector's edition appropriately titled The Walking Dead - Collector's Edition.

The Walking Dead - Collector's Edition will feature The Walking Dead compendium One featuring cover art by Charlie Adlard that includes the first 48 issues of Robert Kirkman's comic book series, a collector's edition box with Charlie Adlard artwork, and the game disc featuring the entire first season including episodes 1 though 5.

If you just want the game minus all the extra goodies, you can get that for only $29.99.  The Walking Dead - Collector's Edition, meanwhile, will run you a still-very-reasonable $69.99.
