Did you ever want to create your own Portal 2 levels? Starting May 8th, you'll be able to use a tool created by Valve to do so.

The Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC is a free DLC for PC and Mac that will let you create test chambers and share them out to others easily. Awesome!

If the PC gaming scene shows, there are a great number of creative minds out there so I can't wait to see what some folks come up with.

The Steam Workshop will be the conduit in which you can publish, browse, and download new maps. Just like how it's been easy access for Skyrim mods, the Steam Workshop will be easy access for new Portal 2 maps.

So starting May 8th, the GLaDOS will be getting some help in generating new test chambers.....for science.

Here, let Cave Johnson explain it in his own unique way.

Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative Begins May 8

April 26, 2012 -- Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the free Portal 2 DLC titled "Perpetual Testing Initiative" will be available for the PC and Mac on May 8th.

The "Perpetual Testing Initiative" allows players to easily create, share, and play Portal 2 puzzles. The Initiative comes with a simplified puzzle maker that allows that creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game.

The puzzle maker can directly publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.

Portal 2 holds a Metacritic score of 95% and has been awarded numerous Game of Year awards. It features expansive single and cooperative multiplayer game modes.
