Anyone surprised that
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has broken records? Anyone? How about an estimated 6.5 million copies sold in the US and UK in one day?
The previous record was held by
Call of Duty: Black Ops, which netted an estimated $360 million in those two regions in one day. Modern Warfare 3 has done $400 million in one day now in those two regions, breaking the previous record by $40 million.
Yeah, those are huge numbers.The juggernaut shows little signs of stopping and even with the major studio changes in Infinity Ward, the title still sold like gangbusters. Can Activision keep it up with Call of Duty next Fall? Time will tell.
