[outrage]Red Faction: Armageddon delayed[/outrage]

More On: Red Faction: Armageddon
I just want to get this out of the way right now:  I HATE GAME DELAYS.  I view them as the very embodiment of all that is wrong with an industry that seems to put its fans last at every possible opportunity.  No other group of fans/users have to deal with it as much as we gamers do.  So, no matter the reason or the game, delays make my blood boil.

Having said all that, the delay for Red Faction: Armageddon is short and comes with the buoying news of the impending release of a playable demo onto Xbox Live and the PSN (if/when it ever comes back to life).

Red Faction: Armageddon is now set for a June 7th release date in North America and June 10 for international markets.  So it's only about a week extra we'll have to wait.  The demo will be downloadable on May 3.  However, Xbox Live Free members need to keep in mind that, unless there's been an unannounced policy change, they'll have to wait an extra week to get access to it (more outrage, I know).

On June 7, Red Faction®: ArmageddonTM is set to explode onto the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in North America. Red Faction: Armageddon will ship internationally on June 10.

Additionally, THQ announced today the free playable demo of Red Faction: Armageddon is scheduled to be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on May 3.

In the demo, consumers will be introduced to Darius Mason and fight their way through the Martian sewers and an oncoming alien infestation. Meanwhile, Darius must clear his name as the colonists have blamed him for unleashing the alien threat that has ravaged the underground cities of Mars.

Players will have at their disposal the Nano Forge as they combat alien invaders with concussive blasts and core-shattering tremblers. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano Forge’s incredible Reconstruction ability. Finally, throw entire buildings at your enemies with Red Faction’s signature weapon, the Magnet Gun.

The Red Faction: Armageddon demo is also scheduled to be available on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on May 3 or once the PlayStation®Network has been restored.
