I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or time frame to share at this point in time.
As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience.
What has really been an entertaining experiment in PR is watching how the key words in Seybold’s message has evolved since last Wednesday as Sony has realized the seriousness of their problem. It has gone from "a day or two" to a very uncertain “time intensive”.
Day 1: “may be a full day or two”
Day 2: “all we can to resolve this situation quickly”
Day 2: “time-consuming”
Day 4: Sunday, no update
Day 5: “time intensive process”
I don’t envy Seybold, as nothing he can post short of “It’s Fixed” will quell the masses. While people are grateful for the updates, the trolls have been jumping on his comments a little but more each day in the comments at the PS Blog.
At this point, I am more inclined to have Sony fix it right and take as much time as they need rather than slam something in there to get it up and running. That would almost be worse than having nothing at all, especially if bugs cause more outages, loss of game saves or profiles.
