Long-range SPG warfare in World of Tanks

More On: World of Tanks
Have you ever been having a nice Sunday drive in your tank when all of the sudden it just explodes and kills you?  If so, it's most likely because of a self-propelled gun shot you from a long distance.  It's hard to see that coming!

Wargaming.net has released another trailer for World of Tanks.  This time the action is centered around self-propelled guns.  Players will be able to take control of a number of these lightly-armored but heavy-hitting vehicles.  I enjoyed playing this class; SPGs definitely needed the support of a good team for protection and also to scout out enemy territory.

World of Tanks is still in closed beta.

Wargaming.net Presents Self-Propelled Guns in New Gameplay Trailer

Wargaming.net® announces the release of a new gameplay trailer for its highly-anticipated massively multiplayer online game World of Tanks.

World of Tanks latest video shows a completely different gameplay focusing on the actions of artillery units in battle. The trailer demonstrates the whole variety of SPGs’ tactics and highlights characteristics of the most prominent German and Soviet SPGs such as Hummel and SU-14.

Self-propelled guns support their teams with fire cover and are capable of engaging the enemy units on the opposite side of the battlefield. In cooperation with light tanks artillery vehicles can be a real threat even to the heaviest rivals like Maus or IS-7. Though being very vulnerable to maneuverable light and medium tanks,! SPGs can annihilate any counterpart at short distance by using direct fire.

“We’ve never regretted adding SPGs to our tank fleet as they bring variety into the World of Tanks’ core gameplay, “says Nick Katselapov, producer of World of Tanks. “The game would never look full-blown without the artillery. Playing for the self-propelled gun requires patience and accuracy, while bird’s eye view will attract gamers who are longing for more strategic experience”.
